TheirCare News

We would like to begin by acknowledging the Traditional Owners of the land, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respect to their Elders, past, present, and emerging.

Hello Parents, Guardians, Staff, and Friends,

Welcome to Week 2 of Term 3!

We kicked off the week with great energy and enthusiasm at TheirCare! The children have been fully engaged in a variety of classic board and card games, fostering both fun and learning through play. From strategic games like chess and Scrabble to lively favourites like Bingo, Uno, and Go Fish, there’s been no shortage of excitement. These activities not only encouraged friendly competition but also helped build important skills such as critical thinking, teamwork, and communication. It’s been a fantastic start to the week, and we’re looking forward to even more fun ahead!

This week, we introduced a new and improved way of serving food to make mealtimes smoother and more efficient. To reduce long wait times and make things easier for the children, we’ve implemented a convenient “grab and go” system. This new approach allows children to quickly collect their meals and enjoy more time playing and engaging in activities, rather than waiting in line. It’s been a positive change that’s helped create a more relaxed and enjoyable mealtime experience for everyone!

We hope everyone is feeling refreshed and ready for Term 3!

This week’s theme: Friendship Week!

We're focusing on kindness, connection, and teamwork through a range of thoughtful and fun activities:

  • Kind Words, Kind Hearts - Children are encouraged to use kind and positive words with one another, helping to build a caring and supportive environment.
  • Kindness Jar - Each time a child does something kind, they write it down and place it in the jar. At the end of the week, we celebrate all the acts of kindness shared.
  • Building Friendships, Brick by Brick (LEGO Activity) - Children work together using LEGO to build creative structures, learning to cooperate and communicate as a team.
  • "You've Got a Friend in Me" Friendship Bracelets - Children create colourful bracelets for themselves or a friend, symbolizing connection and care.
  • Find 3 Things You Both Like - A fun get-to-know-you game where children pair up and discover things they have in common, helping to spark new friendships.

Pupil of the Week

POTW is Oliver Clark. Oliver has shown a great sense of responsibility and awareness throughout our sessions. He is always ready to lend a helping hand to both staff and his peers, making sure everything runs smoothly. His positive attitude and support make a big difference each day. Well done, Oliver! 👏
