State Cross Country streak for Orly!
To make State level in Cross Country is a huge achievement once, let alone 4 times! Orly made his first State Cross Country before he was even in the age group, heading down to the very competetive, often muddy track as a grade 3. Fast foward 4 years and as a grade 6 and School Captain has just competed again and finished his 3km in a very impressive time of 12 minutes and 30 seconds. Thank you for always representing our school proudly and always giving it your all, we are very proud of you!
Jump Rope for Heart
Jump Rope for Heart kicks off this term!
Jump Rope for Heart is the Heart Foundation’s primary school skipping challenge that helps kids move more, have fun, and raise funds for life-saving research and programs.
This year we’ve got an audacious goal to see our student Heart Heroes at Rochester to log 250 hours of skipping throughout the program!
Register your child online, so they can receive the full benefits of the program and participate in online fundraising, simply follow the link below to get started. www.jumprope.org.au/parents
Students will be skipping throughout the term in PE lessons/during lunch break, brain breaks and year level sport. During this time you can share their online fundraising page with family and friends to help raise money for this great cause.
We will hold our school Jump Off Day on Thursday 10th September as a part of our Health Expo Day which is shaping up to be a huge event, this will mark the end of the program and is a chance for everyone to come together to skip and show off their newly learned skills.
On Monday fundraising information will be sent home with each child.
Thank you for supporting the Jump Rope for Heart program! We are loving seeing children already working together to learn to skip and enjoy skipping in our yard.
Girls Football
Congratulations to our girls who represented our school this week in the Campaspe Football Carnival. They finished 4th for the day. Thanks to coach Mr Nihill, bus driver Mrs Whitford and to the parents that popped in to support and jumped in to help goal umpire. It was a great day.
