Year 3/4 Camp - Sovereign Hill
On Thursday and Friday, the 24th and 25th of October, the year 3/4‘s went to Sovereign Hill. We did lots of fun activities! One of the really fun activities on day one was gold planning, it was so cool. I collected four pieces of gold! It was so fun.
After dinner, we went to the show. The first show was a magic show and then it was a pirate one. I was in the cabin with Morgan Jasmine, Hannah and Chloe.
On day two, we went to the candy shop, and I got raspberry drops and sour great drops. Then we had warm fresh sour grape drops.
On the bus ride home, I sat with Jas. It was so fun! It felt like 20 minutes with her, then we got back to school, and it was the end of camp.

On Thursday the 24th of October (my 10th birthday), the year 3/4‘s went on a camp to Sovereign Hill.
We stayed for one night in the Sovereign Hill Hotel and enjoyed lots of different activities over the two days.
Here are my top three favourite activities. Firstly, one of my favourite activities was gold panning because it was relaxing. Well, the only reason it was relaxing is because after two very cool activities, plus all the walking, equals when I went to gold panning it was relaxing. I was partnered with one of my best friends (YAAAYYYYY!!!). I got some pieces of gold, but I lost them.
Secondly, another one of my favourite activities was the confectionery demonstration. I know it’s long, but it just means how they make the raspberry drops. They were talking about how it’s an ongoing business about making the candy they sell there. They sell raspberry drops; sour grape drops and a whole lot more. Finally, I think it was special that they held a birthday party for me because it was my birthday with Ms Ceola. They gave us birthday cupcakes and gave everyone a cookie. They made the 3/4‘s sing happy birthday to us and all in all, it was very, very, VERY special of them to do that for us (thanks everyone who set this up).
All in all, Sovereign Hill was very fun, it was a living museum. I had a lot of fun and saw a lot of cool stuff. I learned stuff from the 1850’s and the fun activities = an 8.5/10 review for the place.

On Thursday the 24th, after months of waiting we finally had CAMP!! We were all so happy and excited to finally have camp! But the bus ride was so LONG and BORING! But it was so worth it! I was sitting next to Jas; she fell asleep though. After ages of sitting, we arrived. I was starving but we were waiting for Miss T to get it all sorted. We got our activity sheets, activity groups and CABIN LIST! I was so excited and ran to my cabin room and flopped on the closest bed. It was so comfy I could have fallen asleep! But we sadly had to leave our cabins so we could eat!
We all went down to the playground to eat. After that we got sorted into our groups, I was in group 4. My group had gold panning first. It was cool, but boring. But my favourite was going in the mines on the second day. Now that was an AMAZING experience, I loved it! Also exploring the shops was fun as well.
The after-dinner show was so funny and exciting, I loved the Blackbeard one. If we ever go back, hopefully we have more days!

On Thursday the 24th of October the year 3/4‘s went on camp to Sovereign Hill. We stayed for 2 days, and it was so fun. First, I did gold panning. It was so fun but sadly I did not find any gold. After dinner, we watched a magic pirate show. I really liked the show.
On the next day I went to the Red Hill mine tour before we went home. By James S Firstly, on Thursday we sat in the hall then we went onto the bus. It was a long boring drive. Finally, we got there and then we got to go in our cabins.
In my cabin were Annalena, Molly, Ella, Lia, Gabi, Isley, Lia, me and Kiara. After that, we ate lunch. When we finished lunch, we did our first activity, and it was the gold pour demonstration. Then we went to our next activity which was the confectionery demonstration.
My favourite thing was when we got to eat the lolly. For dinner I didn’t really like the food, but breakfast was amazing. The next day we went back to our cabins to pack after breakfast. After that we went to the lolly shop and then we went home.

My highlight at school camp was going gold panning with the year 4’s. I didn’t find any gold, but my friends did. We also went down in the mines; I was having a great time. In the mines there was a big nugget of gold, I think it was fake though. At night there was a show with some pirates. There was also a magic show where he did some magic tricks.
When we got back from the show, we had to go somewhere to celebrate someone’s birthday. We got a cookie with a freckle in the middle. It tasted so good that I wanted another one.
In the night we stayed up and Jayce told us some scary stories. Also, in the middle of the night, someone screamed. It woke me up.
The next day there was a candy shop when I got amazing lollies that everyone got with their own money. I recommend everyone to go to Sovereign Hill, I had a great time.

On Thursday the 24th of October, the year 3/4‘s went on camp to Sovereign Hill. We stayed for one night in the Sovereign Hill hotel and enjoyed lots of different activities over the two days.
My favourite activity for the first day was gold panning because if you’re lucky, you get gold. My favourite part of the second day was getting a toffee green apple because it was sweet. My second favourite was going underground in the mines. The cabins had bunk beds and were warm. I liked camp. By Felix On Thursday the 24th of October, we went to Sovereign Hill. We had two buses, one for the year 3’s and one for the year 4’s. I sat next to Morgan, but it was so long.
When we got their group 1 and 2 had a lot of activities. My personal favourite activity was gold panning. I found so much gold, about 7 pieces.
After dinner we went to see a performance about magic and pirates, it was very entertaining. And last but not least, the lolly shop. We made sour grape lollies all together and it was very fun.

I was with my friends Evan, Josh and Tim.
For our first activity we went to a building to learn about the gold rush. Next, we went to the park and ate morning tea.
Afterwards, we went to the mines, Then, we got to go gold panning. Along that came many other activities and soon came dinner.

On Thursday and Friday, I went to Sovereign Hill. It’s in Ballarat. We got on the bus for a 1-and-a-half-hour drive, but it felt like 5 seconds! When we arrived, we had to find everyone’s luggage. I found mine first! Then we went to our cabins and the girls’ ones were LUXURY! The boys’ ones were prison cells!
We went gold panning. I made a candle!
By Annalena
On Thursday and Friday, I was on camp with the 3/4’s. We went to Sovereign Hill. It's in Ballarat. At Ballarat it's absolutely FREEZING there because at nighttime it hit 2 degrees Celsius! I made a pink, purple and blue candle. First, I dipped the candle in blue then pink, then purple! I got a lot of lollies from the lolly shop. Like a jar of raspberry drops for me and it cost $9.00, then I got a bag of raspberry drops that cost $4.00 and lastly, I got 2 umbrella lollipops for $2.00. All together it cost $15.
For dinner on Thursday, we had chicken on white rice with cucumber and tomato. For breakfast we had an option between Weetabix, Cornflakes, Nutri grain and toast. I chose corn flakes. For our drink we got apple juice. For lunch Friday we got rolls. There was an option of ham rolls, salad rolls and chicken rolls for dessert/supper we all had brownies with thick cream on the chocolate brownie.
In our groups we did different activities like gold panning. | caught gold but then lost it. Later that day we went home on the really big comfy bus. That was the three four camp!

On Thursday the 3/4's were going to Sovereign Hill for a School camp. First in the morning we went on the bus and drove for an hour and a half until we reached Sovereign Hill.
Next, we went in our cabins to put our bags down and take our day bag to explore Sovereign Hill. After leaving our cabins we went to the parts with a pirate ship and a rocket ship slide, we sat on a tiny stage and ate our lunch till our next activity.
After Lunch we went to our first activity which was dressing dummies and learning about what 1850s people dressed like. Next, we went outside for an unexpected show. The show was about three people shooting loaded guns (not real guns) and that was very loud! For the next activity we went for a gold purifying demonstration.
By Jin Hao
Once I arrived at our cabins, I put my luggage away and packed my day bag.
The first activity that my group did was dressing a mannequin using 1850-1890’s clothes. Then the whole school grouped together for the shot gun show. It was loud and noisy. I am so shocked, flabbergasted, hornswoggled that ANYONE could enjoy that one bit. I will give the pew-pew show a ONE HALF OF A STAR!! At least to make up for the horrible disgusting thing, a very good INTERESTING thing happened after. We had a gold smelting demonstration! It was super interesting because we got to see fire and the gold was glowing because it keeps all its heat inside of it.

On Thursday the ¾’s went to Sovereign Hill. On Thursday the first thing we did was get on the bus. The bus left at 9:15am and got there around 11:00am. When we got there, we grabbed our luggage and went to our rooms. In my room was Curtis, James H and Jacob. After we went to get lunch.
The first activity was learning about living in the past. They talked about how they lived in the gold rush. Fun fact about the gold rush is the largest gold nugget found was 72kg! Next, we went to the mine tour, and it was amazing! 275 metres underneath the ground.

Day 1: This morning grade 3’s and 4’s was getting ready for camp. The grade 3’s and 4’s are heading off to Sovereign Hill for 2 days. The bus ride was two hours. When we got there, we figured out who as in our cabin. I was put in a cabin with Evan, Steven and Josh. We made the beds and then made a line outside the boy's cabin. We were sorted into groups and our first one was the dude that played with the gold. It was quite satisfying to be honest.
Then we went to the guys who made the lollies.
After that, we went gold panning. I took four goes and in the third, I saw gold, but the man said it wasn’t. So, I did one more scoop but was not lucky enough, so we packed it up. We came together for afternoon tea and it was yum.
