Grade 2

This term the grade 2’s has been busy learning all about Procedural Writing. 

We have looked at lots of different types of procedural texts including instructions, videos, recipes and experiments. We have been practising sequencing our steps using time connectives such as ‘First, next, then, after, lastly etc.’. Students had a go at writing their own set of instructions about how to draw a house. We had lots of fun looking at all the different finished drawings. This helped us to understand the importance of adding detail to our writing and being as specific as possible. We also followed some directed drawing videos to see how important pictures and diagrams can be in procedural writing.
