Principal's update

Hello everyone,

Hello everyone,

Here is our third fortnightly newsletter for the year as we end week five of the term.

I have added a few new community updates that may be of interest to people.

Taradale Mineral Springs Festival

The Taradale Mineral Springs Festival is on Sunday the 8th of March. Each year the school conducts a successful fundraising stall at the festival, that also attracts people interested in learning more about our wonderful community school. To make the stall successful, we need volunteer help preparing items to sell, setting up and being at the stall.

Here is a link to the volunteer roster where you can add your name to help and details of any items that you may have to donate to the stall.

We will also holding a raffle, if you have something to donate to the raffle, there is a collection box at the office

Breakfast Club

we would love to have more volunteers help us to offer Breakfast club each day at school.

Taradale PS participates in the Breakfast Club programme operated by Food Bank Victoria. This provides the school with a range of food at no cost to provide to students for breakfast and other meals if needed. All students are eligible and welcome to attend the Breakfast Club, however we need parent or community volunteers to offer the service between 8.30 and 9.00. If you would like to assist or know more, please contact the school office.

Parents and Friends

Please refer to our Parents and Friends page for more information about this group

School hats

It is a SunSmart requirement that students wear a broad brim hat when the UV is forecast to be 3 or above (generally terms 1 and 4). School hats are usually available for purchase from the school office, but we are waiting for the latest order to arrive. Students may wear broad brim hats from home while we wait for school hats. Students who do not wear a hat are asked to play under one of the three shade sail areas, under the verandahs or under the elms in the sandpit. If you do not want your child to wear a hat, please send me an email stating so.
