MACS Care - 11 Standards in 11 Months
Child Safe Standard 8
Staff and volunteers are equipped with the knowledge, skills and awareness to keep children and young people safe through ongoing education and training.
What Schools Must Do:
- Deliver induction and ongoing education so staff and volunteers understand child safety expectations, policies, and responsibilities.
- Offer education that builds awareness and skills to create culturally safe environments for all children and young people.
What we do at SMCM:
- Ensure all staff complete Child Safety training as part of their induction and regularly revisit.
- Ensure all staff and volunteers have appropriate qualifications and meet regulatory requirements including VIT registration, valid WWCC and National Police Checks.
- The Volunteer Induction & Agreement is completed by all parents or volunteers when signing in at school for excursions, parent helpers, work placement etc.
