Dear Members of the Old Virgilians Association,

As we approach Remembrance Day, we warmly invite members of the Old Virgilian Association to join us for our annual Remembrance Day Service at St Virgil’s College on 11 November at 11:30am.

Remembrance Day provides an important opportunity for our community to pause, reflect and honour the courage, service and sacrifice of the men and women who have served our nation. As Old Virgilians, you share a unique connection to the rich history and traditions of our College, making your presence especially meaningful as we gather in remembrance.

Following the service, guests are invited to join us for light refreshments and to view our treasured Book of Memory. This significant historical record preserves the stories of Old Virgilians who made the ultimate sacrifice during World War I, often referred to as The Great War. Through detailed research and archival records, the Book of Memory stands as a lasting tribute to former students whose service and sacrifice continue to inspire future generations.

We would be delighted to welcome members of the Old Virgilians Association to this important occasion, where together we can honour those who served and deepen our connection to the remarkable legacy of the College.

To assist with catering, we would appreciate an RSVP by November 6 to pjelkic@stvirgils.tas.edu.au

Thank you for your continued service to veterans and their families and for your commitment to keeping the spirit of remembrance alive within our community.

Yours sincerely,

Áine Toman,

Assistant Principal Religious Identity and Mission.
