From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

The last two weeks within our school community have been so busy, so much so we have squeezed two weeks of events in this one newsletter edition!

St Simon’s Art Show 2023

Our students and families have responded positively to our recent St Simon’s Art Show. We are incredibly proud of each student’s effort as they exhibited and showcased their artistic work and talents throughout the event.  Thank you again for the overwhelming support of families and parishioners who visited the art show over the five-day period.

Thank you to our fantastic staff working tirelessly behind the scenes throughout the Art Show event.

St Simon’s Day

Last Friday, our school celebrated the feast day of St Simon’s with some fantastic experiences!

Firstly we gathered as a community to celebrate Mass, giving thanks and reflecting on the life and example St Simon gave us as followers of Jesus.

Next, the students were entertained and engaged by Gen Bryant Music with a series of mini-concerts and reflections out school hall.  Students were also encouraged to learn a new skill or two with Circus Crew, an experience on trying jugging, hula hooping and lots more.

Thank you to all the school families for joining us for these celebrations.

World Teachers Day

Friday 27th October was also the day we acknowledge and celebrate World Teachers’ Day!  Teachers were treated to a morning tea and a small gift from the school to show our community’s collective appreciation for everything our wonderful teachers do.

Twilight Sports

We were able to finally gather for our new format of Twilight Sports on Thursday 2nd November.  Originally scheduled as Term 1 event, we were excited to gather on Thursday afternoon to bring together some friendly competitive spirt between our four house colour teams.  Thank you to our school families and school staff for their support and efforts on the day.  It was yet another sign of the St Simon’s School Community spirit on show.

Thank you to PE Teachers, Karl Camerino and Louisa Pontin- Raj for all their organisational and planning work in the lead up to this event.

Year 5 and 6 Interschool Sports Competition

Congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 sports teams on fantastic achievements in the inter-school sports competitions.  Click here to read more about how some teams have advanced to the next level.  Thank you to the teachers and parents who have supported our students in these sporting events.

Only 8 days to go to the St Simon’s Fete,  Saturday 11th November from 10am-3pm
