Welcome to Term 3

Welcome back to Term 3! I hope everyone had the opportunity to enjoy a well-earned break and spend some quality time with family and friends. It has been wonderful to see our students return refreshed, settled and ready for another exciting term of learning.

Over the past year, our school community has once again shown incredible generosity through the many fundraising events held at Torquay College. A sincere thank you to everyone who has supported these events. Thanks to your generosity, we have been able to install a fantastic new projector and sound system in our gymnasium, creating a wonderful space for school productions, assemblies, sporting events and community activities. We have also recently purchased new soccer nets, which arrived at the end of Term 2. These nets have been custom made to fit our goals and are extremely expensive to replace. We ask all students and families to help us look after them so they can be enjoyed by everyone for many years to come. You may have also noticed that the court markings across the school have recently been repainted and are looking fantastic. We are now in the process of obtaining quotes to repair and upgrade our drink taps to continue improving our facilities for students.

Christmas in July - Elf the Movie

Don't forget our Christmas in July Movie Night this Friday evening! Join us in the gymnasium as we enjoy the Christmas classic Elf, starting at 7:00pm. Rug up in your warmest winter gear, bring your rug, blanket and snacks, and enjoy a fun night with family and friends. Popcorn will be available for purchase on the night. Torquay College Community Golf Cup

Planning is well underway for our inaugural Torquay College Community Golf Cup, and tickets are selling quickly. If you're thinking about entering a team, now is the time to get your group together. Please note that this event is not a school fundraiser. Ticket sales simply cover the costs associated with hiring the RACV Golf Course and providing post-round snacks.

Alongside the event, we are seeking community sponsorship to support the installation of our new digital sign at the front of the school. NAPLAN Results

Grade 3 and Grade 5 NAPLAN Individual Student Reports have arrived at school this afternoon. Reports will be sent home with students in the coming days, as well as uploaded to student profiles on Compass.

Girls Cricket Clinic

Torquay College is excited to be hosting a four-week Girls Cricket Clinic this term. This is a fantastic opportunity for girls of all skill levels to learn new skills, build confidence and have some fun.

Thank You

Finally, I would like to sincerely thank Amy Snow for stepping into the Acting Principal role while I was on leave throughout last term. Amy did a fantastic job leading the school and ensuring everything continued to run smoothly. I'd also like to acknowledge all of our staff who stepped up to take on additional responsibilities during this time. Your support, professionalism and teamwork are greatly appreciated, and I am very grateful to be returning to such a dedicated team. I look forward to another fantastic term of learning, growth and community connection. Thank you for your continued support of Torquay College.
