From the Principal

Dear families,
We are now half way through Term 2, it has been a busy start to the term. The fun events continue to roll on including tomorrow's District Cross Country Event. Mrs Wick and I will accompany about 35 students to Lewis Reserve in Wantirna South for the event. We are looking forward to seeing the students represent our school with pride and try their best.
Next Friday our Year 4 students are attending either Mater Christi College or St Joseph's College as part of the Taster Day program. I am sure the Year 4's will enjoy their day and come home with lots of cool stories.
Just a note for families, now that the seasons are changing and the weather is getting colder, we have noticed an increase in both student and staff illness. Please note that when a LSO staff member (Education Support Staff) is away unwell, it is not easy to find replacements. We do our best to juggle staff around and the staff are very flexible, however I do ask that you be understanding with us. We will always try our best to replace staff and make sure we have as much support as we can but I ask families be understanding if there is a day here or there without additional classroom support.
Tomorrow (22nd of May) is National Walk Safely to School Day. It would be great to see parents and students parking a little bit away from school (even in the Woolies carpark) and walking up to school, using the crossings.
Donations to support the Parish:
Please see the below poster which was created by one of our students Eliza Atkinson. We are trying to support the Parish in their efforts to obtain donations for a local women's refuge. There will be a donations tub in the school foyer.
National Sorry Day:
Tuesday 26th of May marks National Sorry Day. On this day students will engage in activities which build their understanding of indiginous culture and history. These days are important to acknowledge as part of the school's ongoing committment to Child Safety Standard 1.
Camp Manyung (June 3rd to 5th):
We are only a few weeks away from Camp for our Year 5 and 6 students. We will be attending Camp Manyung in Mt Eliza. As per normal procedure, any medication taken on camp (outside of regular school medication) will need to have a Medication Authority Form signed by a medical professional. I have attached a copy here for those families who want to get a head start on the process. I have also attached a packing list for families. I have also also included the slide show from the Parent Information Evening which was held on Tuesday night.
