CIS Junior Italian Poetry Competition
Several students in Years 7 and 8 recently took part in the CIS Junior Italian Poetry Competition. These students were required to memorise a poem in Italian and recite it in front of an examiner.
Several students obtained commendable results, which included an outstanding effort from Joanna Sajan Simon in Year 8, who was awarded third place in Victoria in this competition. The College congratulates Joanna on this outstanding achievement.
Well done to the following students who represented the College in this event:
Year 7: Fayez Alchekh, Thomas Bucello, Cruz Butera, Noah Cohadzic, Ellie Colaci,

I thank all the Italian teachers and members of staff in the Languages Immersion Team whose hard work was crucial in assisting our students to prepare thoroughly for this competition. In particular, I would like to thank Mrs Annita Battagello who did an outstanding job both in organising the College’s participation in this event and in encouraging many Monicans to take part in it.
