Year 3/4 Newsletter Article

We have had an exciting and busy time in Year 3/4 in the past few weeks! Here’s a glimpse of what we’ve been up to:

We had a fantastic time at camp! The highlight was definitely the Keepit Koomando (mudrun). Everyone had a blast getting muddy and working together as a team. It was a great experience filled with laughter and fun!

In Art, we have finished our cow sculptures! They turned out amazing, and we hope you enjoy looking at them as much as we enjoyed making them. Get ready for some giggles when you see our creative designs!

In Maths, we have been learning about Chance, Time and Money. We participated in a variety of activities that involved deciding on possible outcomes and the probability of these outcomes occurring. We practiced telling the time and figuring out how to use money in real-life situations. It has been a lot of fun, and we are getting better every day!

In Science and Technology, we are currently working on a unit about Digital Technologies. We are investigating how digital systems share information. We have learned to identify different digital systems and devices. We also explored how these systems transmit data and the different ways we can represent this data. Students are excited to find out how digital systems can help meet needs in our personal lives, at school, and in our community.

In Sport and Creative Arts, we are completing a unit on Dance inspired by Indigenous Dance. In groups, students are creating their own dances to tell stories about specific Australian animals. We can’t wait to share our performances with Kindergarten!

In English, we have been reading "Kicking Goals with Goodsey" and Magic by Anita Heiss,Michael O’Loughlin, and Adam Goodes. We are exploring what makes someone a role model and doing our own research about a particular Australian role model. After our research, we will write a persuasive text about why they are a great role model.
