Dear Families,
Student Learning Catch Ups - Thanks to all of the parents who gave up their time to attend a Student Learning Catch Up with their classroom teachers last week. We hope that we were able to provide you with some insight into some of the incredible work that your kids are creating on a daily basis. As always, we are transparent and here for you. So, should you have a question or query, please don't hesitate to contact the school.
Father's Day Breakfast - Thank you to all of the dads, pa's, uncles, and any other special people in our students' lives who took the time to come in for breakfast with us last Thursday. The kids were buzzing with both excitement and gratitude.
Parent Opinion Survey - Thank you to those families who have already completed our yearly Parent Opinion Survey. This will remain open until the 18th of September, so please jump on and complete the survey if you have an opportunity and haven't already. We have only had 3 families complete this survey so far and would really love a few more families to jump and complete if possible please.

2027 Prep Transition - We are looking forward to seeing our 2027 Prep students again next week for their final session of Term 3. We can't wait to see all of your smiling faces on:

Cancelled 150th year Committee Meeting - Due to James' unavailability, the 150th year Committee Meeting has been cancelled. Further information about this will be provided when James has returned in term 4.
Book Week Excursion to Bridgewater PS - On Friday the 4th of September we travelled to Bridgewater Primary School to join them for a joint Book Week celebration day. Once again, the parents went all out and created some of the most incredible costumes. As did the staff... We are so appreciative of everybody's efforts, as we know it can be quite challenging to meet your children's requests.
Rushworth P-12 Carnival Excursion - What an amazing day! On Tuesday 8th September, we travelled across to Rushworth to attend their yearly Wellbeing Carnival. The Rushworth Carnival had so many things for the kids to enjoy (Face Painting, Zorb Balls, Obstacle Course etc). They even took part in a colour run, giving all of the teachers the opportunity to throw as much colour as humanly possible on the kids. A massive thanks needs to be given to all of the parents for their amazing organisation in sending a white shirt for the day, and to Bree Blake for inviting us.
Upcoming Events
Campaspe Cluster Science Day Excursion - On Wednesday 16th September, we will be travelling across to Elmore Primary School to participate in our annual Cluster Science Day. Students will join with other students from across the cluster to participate in multi-age science based activities. We will be leaving school at 9am and we will be back at school in the afternoon ready for a normal end of day finish. We will be travelling by bus, with a few students travelling by private vehicle with a staff member. Students will need to wear full school uniform and bring along their lunch, snacks and a drink bottle. There will be an opportunity to order lunch for students through Subway like there was last year, information will be shared separately on uEducateUs about this. There will be a cost of $8 per student for this excursion which will go towards covering bus travel costs for the day. Payment can be made by:
- Cash payment to either James or Taylah.
- EFT Bank Transfer to school account.
- If your child has CSEF funds, this amount can be deducted from remaining CSEF. Please let James or Taylah know if you would prefer this
Bendigo Excursion Day - On Thursday 17th of September, we will be travelling to Bendigo for a whole school Bendigo excursion. P-2 students will be heading to the Ulumbarra Theatre to see a production show of Room on the Broom, a picture story book by Julia Donaldson that we love! 3-6 students will be heading to the Central Deborah Gold Mine for a Mine Experience where they will get to explore how the discovery of vast gold deposits in the Bendigo Creek turned a sleepy sheep run into a mixing pot of cultures, connecting to inquiry learning in the classroom from this term. Both classes will then meet back together for lunch, before heading out to Gurri Wanyarra Swimming Pool for the final swim of our swimming program. We will be travelling to Bendigo in the morning by Vline train. Students will need to be dropped off at Raywood Station no later than 8.30am. Once in Bendigo, P-2 students will walk to Ulumbarra Theatre and 3-6 students will walk to Central Deborah Gold Mine. After the morning activities, both groups will meet back together for lunch. After lunch, we will travel out to the pool for our 1.45pm swimming lesson before returning to school for a normal end of day pick up. Travel out to the pool and back to school will be by bus, with a few students travelling by private car with a staff member. Students will need to wear school uniform and bring along their backpack with everything they need for swimming later in the day.
*PLEASE NOTE: STUDENTS HAVE BEEN ASKED TO BRING ALONG EXTRA CLOTHING TO PRACTICE SAFELY GETTING OUT OF LOOSE CLOTHES IF THEY EVER FALL INTO THE WATER. Loose pants and a jumper or even pyjamas will be fine.
They will need recess snacks and their drink bottle, but won't need lunch as school will organise this. There is no cost for this excursion.
Footy Colours Day - On Friday the 18th of September (the last day of term) we will be hosting a footy colours day at school. Footy Colours Day is a national fundraising event initiative by Fight Cancer Foundation in September, where thousands of Aussies come together, proudly sport their team's colours, and raise money so kids don't fight cancer alone. Kids are encouraged to wear their favourite team's colours on this day and bring a gold coin donation for the Fight Cancer Foundation.
* Please note: Students finish school 1 hour earlier on this day.
Term 4 Events - Information has started to come home with students about our three camps that will be occurring in the first part of Term 4. We look forward to these fun activities!
- Grade 5/6 Anglesea Camp: 19th-21st October
- Whole School Melbourne Camp: 2nd-3rd November
- Grade 3/4 Kookaburra Camp: 9th-11th November
