Principal's Report

Principal's Report

Dear parents,

Last week we celebrated our amazing student success at our annual presentation day assemblies. It was great to see so many parents attend the live stream to watch their children receive an award.

Congratulations to all of our students on completing what was a very challenging year. Our students have once again demonstrated their resilience, hard work and commitment to learning.

Thank you parents for your continued support this year as we navigated the learning from home period.

Year 6 Walkout - 2.10pm today

Our traditional Year 6 walkout will look different this year. Students will form two rows, 1.5m apart, in the playground. They will remain in their class groups. Students will clap as the Year 6 students walk past them. Unfortunately, parents are not able to attend. We wish our Year 6 students all the best for High School.

Return to school

Year 1 to 6 return to school on Tuesday 1 February 2021. Students will be placed into

their 2022 class on their first day and parents will be advised of their child's class and

teacher through Seesaw. Kindergarten 2022 students start school on Wednesday 9 February, 2022.

Students travelling overseas

NSW Health advice for students travelling internationally states that children who are not fully vaccinated must not attend school until:

* at least 7 days after arriving in Australia

* they have received a negative result from their day 6 test.

Please email the school if your child's return to school is delayed due to overseas travel

and/or isolating on their return to Australia. girraween-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au

Drop off and pick up procedures

Parent drop off and pick up procedures are expected to remain the same at the start of 2022. Please check which gate your child's year group will be exiting from. You should ensure that your child knows if they are going to be picked up from Gilba Road or Bando Road.

Mr Walker - 30 Years of Service

Mr Walker is enjoying his retirement. This week Mr Walker received his 30 years of service certificate and retirement plaque. Below he is pictured looking very happy in retirement.

I wish all of our families a well deserved and restful holiday break. Enjoy the sunshine and time with family and friends.

I look forward to seeing everyone in the New Year!
