Principal's Report

Dear parents, carers and students,

We are at the stage of finalising  Student Support Group Meetings,  so if you have not had one yet and have not made a time to meet with your son or daughter's homeroom teacher could you please reach out to them.  The bulk of them have been completed and most are scheduled. Thursday and Friday this week have been Clean Up Naranga Days.  This has been a great program at raising awareness of caring for our school environment.  It has been a valuable exercise enhanced by a visit from CERES with a focus of working with our pathways students to talk about biodiversity.  I listened to the students talking with Kai about all their great ideas to help improve the health of our surrounds.  Our therapy team has started 'Learn to Play' sessions for parents during the school day.  There was a session yesterday that I stayed and listened to for a short while.  There were lots of helpful ideas to help our students learn to play. A number of students are very excited to have the opportunity be be on the Student Representative Council.  They met for the first time yesterday and there were some valuable discussions had.  These students have been selected by their fellow class mates to be on this council.  Leadership is looking forward to hearing and implementing their ideas over the year.

School Review

Naranga School will be undergoing a School Review this term.  The Review begins on March 14.  It examines all elements of our practice as a school and sets targets for our next four year School Strategic Plan.  Parents and carers will be given an opportunity to contribute to the Review through parent consultation sessions.  I'll be providing details of those sessions as we get closer to the review.
