Principal's Report

Dear students, families & friends,

The announcement by the Premier on Tuesday that students would be returning to school on May 26 was welcome news to the whole Naranga School community.  We are looking forward to seeing all of the students back in class.  After speaking with many of the teachers, it definitely sounds like all of the students are eager to get back and see their friends as well.  School may look a little bit different for the rest of the year.  We will be providing families with more information in next week's newsletter.  You can expect that there will be some changes to parents and visitors being allowed into school and some modifications for pick up at the back gate in the afternoon to ensure that social distancing is in effect.  Teaching all of our students good hand hygiene will be a priority.  The good news is that their classroom learning experience will remain largely unchanged.  The Department of Education and Training will be providing some information regarding excursions, camps and off-site programs for the rest of the year and I will share this with the community once I have the information.

Thank you to all of the parents and carers for taking on the challenge of learning from home. I really appreciate your support and effort at keeping your children at home whenever possible.  Only just over a week to go and your children will be back at school and household routines can get back to normal.

Friday 16 May is Education Support Personnel Day.  I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of our Education Support Staff for the contribution they make to the school every day.  From supporting students in class, preparing resources, answering telephones, tending to the grounds and countless other tasks that go unseen but remain appreciated.  On behalf of the whole school community- THANK YOU!

Daily changes to student bus arrangements

If you need to make a change to your child's bus arrangement for the day, a note to the office or a telephone call MUST be received no later than 2pm  on the day of the change. Every one of our students must be on either a bus roll or the walker's roll, and amendments to travel arrangements need to be correct to avoid students not being accounted for at the end of the day.
