Comprehensive Survey Results

Attached with the Newsletter will be a separate ‘Thank You and Feedback Pack’ for parents with respect to the recent survey that was conducted. Separate data will be provided for Primary and Secondary families.

The data is currently being analysed and will be a useful reflective tool and additionally will assist with our planning into the future. A total of 425 secondary parents and 879 secondary students provided feedback and 150 Primary parents and 59 Year 6 students completed the survey. With 159 staff engaged in the process we have certainly received comprehensive information on all aspects of John XXIII College life.

Pleasingly, the results are very positive suggesting strong levels of support for much of our College life. Our results are also encouraging when benchmarked against comparable Independent and Catholic schools throughout Australia.

The areas that have been identified where further attention will be given include an ongoing pursuit of academic excellence, aspects of our Religious Education programmes and the implementation and use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Already senior staff at the College have been briefed on the survey results and we have a full staff presentation scheduled for the commencement of Term Four. I am planning to brief parents at the Term Four Parents' Association Meeting and will also incorporate aspects of the survey at Presentation Night and in written publications.

Thank you again to all our families for engaging in the process. I am thrilled to be part of a dynamic and exciting Catholic school community with a focus on continual improvement.

Staff And Student Farewells

At the end of each term it is always sad to farewell students and staff leaving the College. I would like to wish the following members of staff well in their future ventures:

Mr Luke McCourt (Year 7 and ICT) – returning to his home state of Queensland and will remain working in Catholic education.

Miss Aleisha Crump (English) – conclusion of her contractual term.

Mary Ward Justice Lecture

This week we had staff and student representation at Loreto Primary School (Nedlands) for the annual Justice Lecture. It was great to listen to and learn from a former John XXIII College student, Tori Anderson (Class of 1999) as she addressed the confronting issue of human trafficking.

Together, let us seek justice.

Yours sincerely
