COVID Update

At the time of publication, St Patrick's Primary has been lucky compared to other schools throughout the diocese, where we haven't had any positive cases with any members of our school community since the school year has commenced. The second installment of the rapid antigen tests have arrived for the next fortnight. Hopefully, restrictions will be lifted by the end of the month. The tests that we have received are nasal swabs instead of saliva testing. We still have some saliva tests left over from our first allocation and these will be sent home for our Kindergarten and Year 1 families until this supply runs out. Thanks again to all of the families who have already picked up their testing kits, it is very much appreciated. As I said before, I hope this is the last time that we are required to use these testing kits for the rest of 2022. Fingers crossed!

Any student or staff member who is unwell and/or displays symptoms of COVID-19 must be asked to go home and stay there until they can complete a RAT or PCR test. If a student or staff member displays even mild COVID-19 symptoms, they must take a RAT or get a PCR test and isolate until they receive a negative test result. Students must not come to school until they are symptom free, even if they get a negative RAT result. If unfortunately, your child has contacted the virus, please contact the school immediately.
