Swimming Carnival - 15th February

Tuesday 15th February - St Patrick's Swimming Carnival

Again thank you to all of the parents who completed their child/ren's swimming nomination forms so promptly, it has definitely made things easier when allocating selected races for your child.

As mentioned in the information note that went home last Friday, the students who are planning to participate in the 100m, 50m and 25m swimming events will be leaving to go to the pool at 9.00am for a 9.30am start. The students who are participating in across the pool or the little pools will be staying at school for most of the morning session and they will be joining us at 11.00am for a 11.30am start.

In abiding with the current COVID restrictions, it is vital that parents have minimal contact with the students (except for their own) and stay on the northern side of the venue.

Please note, students who are attempting to qualify for our school team at the upcoming Diocesan Swimming Carnival at Gunnedah on Thursday 24th February are reminded that they need to compete in either 50m, 100m or the 200m I.M to qualify for this event. In order to achieve selection to compete at the Diocesan Swimming Carnival, swimmers must meet strict qualification times. Anyone who qualifies will be notified either at the end of the swimming carnival or the following day at school. As mentioned earlier in the newsletter, there is a short turn around from our carnival to the closing of nominations for the Diocesan Swimming Carnival. If you are planning for your child to complete at this carnival, can you please inform Mr Hyatt before Friday 18th February?

Parents who wish to take their child/ren home are asked to sign out with Mrs Pittman, who will be available after the presentation for this purpose. The remaining children will be transported by bus back to school in time for normal school buses & pickups.

We will be having our first Sporting House Meetings this Monday 14th March, where both our Red and Blue Houses have the opportunity to go over final details in regards to the carnival as well as practise their chants for the next day.

Hopefully, it will be perfect weather encouraging fun, as well as participation and fast times! May the best team win!
