Principal's Report

Term 2, Week 1

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back for the commencement of Term 2!  I hope all our families had the chance to enjoy some quiet time over the Easter break.

There is plenty happening this term, and you can find a copy of the Term 2 parent calendar in today's newsletter. Some important events to take note of are;

🟢 Thursday 4 May - 2024 Kindergarten Information Session

🟢 Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 9, 10 & 11 May - Book Fair

🟢 Friday 12 May - Mother's Day Breakfast and Stall

🟢 Sunday 18 June - Sacrament of First Eucharist

🟢 Monday 26 June - NAIDOC Week

🟢 Tuesday 27 June - Field Events Carnival

🟢 Thursday 29 June - Athletics Carnival

🟢 Friday 30 June - Last day of Term 2

Thank you to all the students who represented us at the ANZAC Day services yesterday across the shire. We are always proud of our students, but yesterday demonstrated how wonderful our school truly is with such a huge representation of our school community. Thank you!

As we begin to encounter some cooler weather, students have the option of choosing to wear their winter uniform or summer uniform in the next few weeks. However, please ensure your child is dressed in either full winter or full summer uniform and not a combination of both. Full winter uniform includes wearing a tie at all times. From the commencement of winter (Thursday 1 June), all students must be dressed in full winter uniform.

Whilst on the topic of school uniforms, the School Advisory Committee is currently working on providing options based on parent feedback from the uniform surveys conducted last year. Alternatives for the girls summer uniform is at the top of this list and we are hopeful of having these options ready to go for the beginning of this summer. Based off the feedback collected in these surveys, a new Uniform Policy is also being devised to be distributed to parents in the near future.

Our 2024 Kindergarten enrolment processes are well underway and we already have strong interest for our 2024 cohort. Next Thursday 4 May at 9.30am, we are hosting our information session in the school library. This will include a tour of the Kindergarten classes. If you have a child commencing school next year, or know of someone who does, please ensure you have collected an enrolment pack from the front office.

Our annual Mother's Day Breakfast will be held on Friday 12 May from 8.00am under the COLA. All mums, grandmas, aunties and special ladies in our lives are invited to join us for breakfast as a small way of saying thank you for all you do for us. A note will be sent home today asking you to RSVP for catering purposes.

Have a great week!

Nick
