CAREERS MEETINGS

Congratulations to all students who have attended their careers meeting in Term One. I hope you found it helpful – some exciting pathway in the making!

For those students in Years 11 and 12 I have not met with, I will continue with appointments into Term 2 and then as needed.

A reminder for all students, subject selection for next year will be required by Friday, August 11. If you need any assistance, please feel free to contact me leading up to this time.

These meetings are intended to help you plan life beyond the college, to ensure you are equipped with the information you need to make the best choices for you and your circumstances, goals, and aspirations.

If you are unsure of the direction you wish to take, this meeting is all the more important.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Work experience is the short-term placement of students with employers to provide insights into the industry and the workplace in which they are located. Students are encouraged to organise their own work experience placement early so that they have the greatest chance of securing their place of choice.

It provides students with the valuable opportunity to:

  • Develop employability skills.
  • Explore possible career options.
  • Understand employer expectations.
  • Increase their self-understanding, maturity, independence, and self-confidence.

Term Two School Holidays - Final day to return work experience arrangement form Friday, June 2

If you need assistance in making arrangements, please contact Ms Dimasi prior to the above date.
