Year 12 Year Adviser

Farewell to the Class of 2025

Year 12, Today marks a moment of immense pride and gratitude for our graduating Year 12 students. Pride in who you have become, young men of resilience, compassion, and individuality, and gratitude to all who have guided you on this journey. From seedlings planted in unfamiliar soil in Year 7, through seasons of growth, challenge, and achievement, you now stand as tall, ready to face the wider world.

The journey has not been yours alone. Parents and carers, thank you for trusting us with the education and wellbeing of your sons, for your encouragement and sacrifice, and for partnering with us in shaping the fine young men we see today. To the staff of Epping Boys High School, your fingerprints are everywhere in this story. Through your passion for teaching, your belief in every student, and your countless hours of support, you have provided the roots and nourishment that have allowed Year 12 to flourish.

Year 12, while today is a celebration of what has been achieved so far, it is also stands as a reminder the journey is not yet complete.

The coming weeks are crucial. The HSC examinations are your opportunity to bring together years of hard work and finish strong. Stay disciplined in your study, keep your eyes on the goals you have set, and remember that consistency and focus will make the difference in achieving your personal best.

Remember always, no one walks this road alone. Your teachers, friends, and families are here to guide, encourage, and steady you when the pressure mounts. At school, study sessions and feedback opportunities are available through the holidays. Make the most of them. At home and among your peers, don’t hesitate to seek support, share challenges, and encourage each other forward.

Equally important as study so too is self-care. Eat well, rest properly, and get outdoors. Exercise clears the mind, fresh air restores focus, and balance keeps you strong. As we heard from Luke Jackson, maintain balance by moving forward, not staying still. Remember, the time to celebrate and party will come. When it does it will be well deserved. For now, keep your eyes on the prize and push through with determination and confidence.

Year 12, you leave us not just with achievements on paper but with character, resilience, and spirit. The absence of your presence will be felt, but it will be outweighed by the joy of seeing where life takes you. You are ready, and we are proud.

As you step forward into the HSC, into adulthood, and into the world beyond Epping, remember always the values that have guided you here. Respect, responsibility, and engagement. Step forward now as Old Boys of Epping and know that this community will always walk with you.
