Congratulations to all of our students, families and staff for your efforts in designing such wonderful creations as part of our annual Easter Hat Parade! The quality of the hats this year was quite remarkable and congratulations to those students who were the deserved hat design winners across each of the year levels.

Special thanks to our Parents and Friends Association for coordinating this Year's Easter Raffle. With close to $3000 raised, this money will go towards new sports equipment and outdoor facility upgrades!

2026 Rotary Manningham City Schools ANZAC Service

On Thursday 23 April, 45 of our Year 6 Leaders attended the 2026 Rotary Manningham City Schools ANZAC Service at Templestowe Memorial Reserve in Lower Templestowe.

With close to 680 students from across Manningham in attendance, the event provided a meaningful opportunity for our students to reflect on and recognise, with gratitude, the sacrifices made by countless servicemen and women. Through their participation, students deepened their understanding of the significance of ANZAC Day and the enduring values of service, courage and remembrance that continue to shape life in Australia and New Zealand.

Our thanks are extended to the Rotary Club of Manningham for organising this wonderful event for our community.

National Reconciliation Week

From the 27th of May to 3rd of June it is National Reconciliation Week (NRW). It is a week dedicated to fostering reconciliation as a country and community. This year the theme is All In. Two significant dates are recognised during this week - the successful 1967 referendum and the High Court Mabo decision.

For more information about the week see Reconciliation Australia’s website.

During NRW, Milgate Primary School will be holding a Welcome to Country Ceremony on Friday the 29th of May. We are fortunate this year to welcome back Ganga Giri for a yidaki performance and to have Elder John Terrick join us to conduct the Welcome to Country ceremony.

The ceremony will take place in the stadium at 3:10pm.

Marketing Media Day: Thursday 30 April

On Thursday 30 April, SchoolPix will be capturing a suite of professional photography, videography and audio recordings for our school's media marketing.

This media will be used to support and enhance the school’s promotional and communication materials, showcasing the learning, culture and everyday experiences within our school community.

We kindly remind all families to complete your child/ren’s media consent via Compass Event Permissions, as this will be referred to on the day of filming.

Next Thursday, we also ask that students attend in neat and tidy school uniform and are reminded to take pride in our shared learning spaces, as they may be

photographed and filmed throughout the day.

If you have any questions or require assistance with completing your child’s Compass Media Permissions, please contact the school office.

Living Ripples: Parent Wellbeing & Resilience Survey (final reminder)

Student resilience, mental health and wellbeing are key factors to ensure a happy and fulfilling future for our young people.

We are partnering with Living Ripples to help support the wellbeing of young people in schools.

We are wanting as many parents as possible to also complete the survey so that we can create an action plan to improve the wellbeing of our students.  The survey questions, organised into nine focus areas that underpin resilience and wellbeing include friendship and family, school, bullying, mental wellbeing, caring, hopeful attitudes, reflective attitudes and healthy choices.

The survey access information is:

2026 Colour Run

Milgate Primary School is running an exciting Colour Run online Fundraiser. Our students are seeking online sponsorship for their participation and efforts on Friday 15th May for our school Colour Run. Funds raised through our Colour Run will support the continued redevelopment of our school’s learning, play, and outdoor spaces, helping to create engaging, inclusive, and inspiring environments for all students.

How will this fundraiser work?

We are using an online fundraising company called Go Raise It.  Collecting sponsorship online makes it super easy for everyone - no more door knocking, your child can collect more donations from further afield (friends and family living overseas, work colleagues etc.) and no need to worry about handling all that cash.

How do I sign my child up to fundraise online? Each child can sign up for their very own fundraising web page to send out to collect online sponsorship from anyone, anywhere!

Multiple children in your family? No problem, all children can sit under the same email address. You’ll find a button to set up another page while logged in to the fundraising account you created first.

Do I have to sign up for an online account to fundraise? Yes. Go Raise It adheres to strict cyber-safe guidelines and this is built into their fundraising website.
