Leadership Report

Term 2, Week 1
Dear WNPS Families,
Welcome to Term 2! We hope you’ve enjoyed your break and are ready for another productive and positive term. It’s been wonderful walking around the school this week and experiencing the settled nature of our grades and students. Thank you to our teachers for all their work to support our students transitioning back to school.
A very special congratulations to our Prep students, who have completed their very first term of school! Starting school is one of life's great adventures, and watching our newest community members settle in, make friends, and begin their learning journey has been an absolute joy. What a wonderful milestone — we cannot wait to see everything that lies ahead for them. Well done to our Prep families too, for supporting your children through this exciting transition.
On Saturday, WNPS school leaders have the honour of participating in the ANZAC Day dawn service, where they will lay a wreath and deliver a reading in tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country. We are incredibly proud of our students for representing our school community at such a meaningful occasion. We encourage all families to pause this ANZAC Day and reflect on the courage and sacrifice of our veterans — Lest We Forget.
I have had the great pleasure of taking prospective families on tours around our school throughout last term and into this term as they consider enrolment opportunities for Prep 2027. I have enjoyed seeing our school in action through fresh eyes every time I walk around, and the feedback I often receive is how strongly the families feel a sense of calm, connection and community in our classrooms. We will have an information evening for prospective families coming up on Tuesday 5th May and we encourage our community to let any new families know about the night and get in touch with us to book a tour and find out more about Prep 2027!
Please be aware that Richard Buckingham will be on leave for the first two weeks of term. During this time, please reach out to me directly should you need any assistance.
Kind regards,
Shevani Moodley
