Wellbeing News

Gateways

In week 10 of last term, a group of our students had the exciting opportunity to take part in the Hidden Figures Revealed program, delivered by the Gateways Ignite team here at St Brigid’s.

This engaging program encouraged students to look at maths in different ways. They explored how maths works in the real world. Through hands-on activities and rich problem-solving tasks, students investigated patterns, shapes, and numbers, discovering that mathematics is full of interesting connections and surprises.

The program was a fantastic opportunity for students to experience maths in a fun, engaging, and meaningful way. We thank the Gateways Ignite team for inspiring our learners and supporting them to think like mathematicians. We equally thank our students for their exceptional behaviour throughout the day. The facilitators from Gateways were very impressed with the students from St Brigid’s.

Wellbeing Lessons

At St Brigid’s, we use The Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) resource during our wellbeing lessons. The RRRR are designed for primary schools, to develop students’ social, emotional and positive relationship skills. Students learn social and emotional skills to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence.

Each term, year levels focus on a different topic. Students engage in discussions and activities at an age-appropriate level. Below is a table outlining the topics for Term 2.
