ANZAC Day Commemoration
Today we gathered as a school to acknowledge ANZAC Day and recognise the sacrifices of many in their service to our country. Our memorial service is one way to teach students about some of our history as well as providing an opportunity to particpate in this highly respected tradition in Australia and New Zealand. Thank you to the many families that purchased an ANZAC badge that Year 6 student David F was enthusiastically selling over the last few days! Well done to David for displaying wonderful civic duty.
Please find some additional photos of our service this morning here.
Lest We Forget: The Ode of Remembrance
They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Project Compassion
We are now collecting the Project Compassion boxes. Please send your child’s box back to school by the end of this week. We thank you for your generous donations, big or small, everything counts! As of Friday April 24, our total donations for Caritas Australia's Project Compassion was $1557! Well done St Christopher's, that's an amazing amount of money that we are still counting and it will make a big difference to people in need.
Avila / Salesian Secondary School Experience
Year 4 students will have a day at either Avial College or Salesian College on Wednesday this week. The girls will travel to Avila and the boys to Salesian.
Students will be bussed to the schools, wear full school uniform and are asked to bring their snack, lunch and a water bottle in a small backpack. I am sure they will have a wonderful day.
