YEAR 9-10 SCHOOL NEWS

Year 9 Humanities
Students in Year 9 Humanities have been learning about the Industrial Revolution. Members from class 9D spent time trying to develop their own inventions, solving problems of the time, before presenting them to the class Shark Tank style. There was plenty of creating thinking and excellent public speaking seen.
Year 10 Careers Expo
On Thursday 30th July, our Year 10 students attended the Careers Expo at the new Convention Centre, where they explored a wide range of future education, training, and employment opportunities. Students had the chance to speak with representatives from universities, TAFEs, apprenticeship providers, employers, and industry organisations, gaining valuable insights into potential career pathways and post-school options.
Throughout the morning, students represented Western Heights College well, demonstrating enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in learning about their future. They actively engaged with exhibitors, asked thoughtful questions, and collected information to help guide their career planning and subject selections.
The expo provided an excellent opportunity for students to broaden their understanding of the many pathways available after secondary school and encouraged them to begin thinking about their own aspirations and goals. It was fantastic to see such positive engagement, and we hope the experience has inspired students to continue exploring the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
Well done to all students for representing the college so positively.
