Swimming Team Success at the Northern Peninsula Division Carnival

Earlier this week, our Swimming team made the journey to YAWA Aquatic Centre in Rosebud to compete in the Northern Peninsula Division Swimming Carnival. The students were exceptional, achieving what is likely a record number of podium finishes throughout the day. There were numerous standout performances, with the highlight being our 10-year-old boys’ freestyle relay team, who set a new division record with a time of 3:02!

Congratulations to all students who participated, and good luck to those who have advanced to the Regional Finals, which will also be held at YAWA next Wednesday!

Results:

  • 12yo Girls 4x50m Freestyle Relay – 2nd place (Bonnie Breckon, Zara Heller, Billie Martin, Isla Gibson)
  • 12yo Boys/Mixed 4x50m Freestyle Relay – 1st place (Myles Alexander, Lincoln Dean, Keira McDonald, Ben Meddings)
  • 11yo Girls 4x50m Freestyle Relay – 4th place (Mia Stephenson, Leah Christie, Skyann Finn, Anastasia McDonald)
  • 10yo Boys/Mixed 4x50m Freestyle Relay – 1st place (Division Record🥇) (Archie Tweddle, Dylan Alexander, Patrick Boyd, Flynn Pelzer)
  • Girls Open Medley – 1st Place (Isla Gibson – Backstroke, Zara Heller – Breaststroke, Anastasia McDonald – Butterfly, Bonnie Breckon – Freestyle)

Individual Achievements:

  • Isla Gibson – 1st place in 12 Girls Freestyle and Butterfly
  • Ben Meddings – 1st place in 12 Boys Freestyle and Backstroke
  • Anastasia McDonald – 1st place in 11 Girls Butterfly
  • Flynn Pelzer – 1st place in 10 Boys Butterfly, 3rd in Freestyle
  • Myles Alexander – 2nd place in 12 Boys Backstroke
  • Archie Tweddle – 2nd place in 10 Boys Backstroke
  • Zara Heller – 3rd place in 12 Girls Breaststroke
  • Mia Stephenson – 3rd place in 11 Girls Backstroke
