Principals Message

Welcome Back to Term 3!

It's hard to believe we're already a couple of weeks into the term. Winter has certainly made itself known, with plenty of cold, wet mornings, but despite the weather it's been a fantastic start to the term and our students have returned ready to learn.

Our Grade 5/6 students recently enjoyed a wonderful camp to Sovereign Hill in Ballarat. The camp brought history to life as students stepped back into the gold rush era, making real connections with their learning about the Victorian goldfields. It was fantastic to hear so many positive stories from students and staff. Thank you to the staff and parents who attended to make this experience possible.

This week we've also been proud to celebrate NAIDOC Week and recognise the rich histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Alongside this, our Junior School Council has once again shown wonderful community spirit through its FightMND fundraiser. There are more details about both of these events elsewhere in this newsletter, and I encourage you to take a look.

As this newsletter goes to print, our Grade 2 students are preparing for their very first school sleepover. This is an exciting milestone in our camping program and a wonderful opportunity for students to build confidence, independence and lasting memories with their classmates. We can't wait to hear all about their adventures.

Many families will be aware that industrial negotiations between the Victorian Government and employee representatives are continuing across government schools. While this has resulted in some changes to the way schools have been operating at times, I would like to thank our staff for the professionalism they continue to show and our families for their patience and understanding. Our focus remains firmly on providing a positive, supportive learning environment for every student each day.
