Welcome to term 3 at ‘The Playhouse’ aka OSHC! Just as students have slotted back into school routine they have come back to OSHC in a seamless fashion.

We are currently taking expressions of interest for the curriculum day which is next Wednesday the 31st of July. If you wish to register for your child to attend please contact us as soon as possible. Our bookings for the day close on Friday the 26th July and we require 25 students in order for the day to go ahead.

Program wise with a new playground causing a whole lot of excitement students have been eager to get over there and have a go so we have made sure to use it whenever we can. Also hotly suggested has been the Mobilo so much so that the words “Finally, I’ve been waiting SO long for it to come back!” were heard. Trains, rockets and transformers are just some things built.

We’ve pulled out the blankets for students to snuggle up in the book nook for some quiet time, and seen a resurgence in the amount of chess being played as well as Spot It and Guess Who. Crafty fingers worked on fine motor skills threading ‘beads of rain’ on fluffy storm clouds and hand sewing octopus creatures with donated fabric and stuffing them with recycled wool. Our lizard had a makeover earlier in the week and a few little fairy gardens and troll homes have popped up around the yard.

Educators are busy planning two weeks of Olympic themed activities which is sure create a buzz of excitement amongst students. We’ll be trying some different sports and track and field events outdoors. For those who are more keen on inside activities there will be some building challenges, scavenger hunts and colouring/drawing competitions plus so much more!

Have a great weekend
