Principal's Update

This term is flying along already! We are already halfway through the term and this week we will welcome our Foundation students for their first full week of school. To assist in settling into the school routine, our Foundation students have had Wednesday's off so far, and we look forward to having them here for the full week.
Attendance
The students that have consistency with their attendance are more likely to succeed. Students need to be at school for teachers to do what they do best! As a community we need to ensure we do everything we can to get students to school every day. If students do have a strong attendance rate, we’re giving them the best possible start in life. Remember to always communicate absences to the school if your child is away for any reason.
Students that arrive late to school are missing out on vital instructions and learning during Reading and Writing. We ask that all families minimise the disruption to their child's learning by ensuring they arrive at school each day on time and ready to learn.
This year we are continuing with our EMMAC (Every Minute Matters at Cobram) competition. The winner of this term’s attendance award will head to the Cobram cinemas as a reward.
We have also commenced our new 'Attendance Streak' program. Ask your child what this means and how they earn their reward! Their has been lots of excitement around the school about this!
NAPLAN
NAPLAN will be completed this term. All tests will be delivered in an online format and assess student knowledge and skills in writing, reading, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy. The tests will be completed by Year 3 and Year 5 students between Wednesday 11th March and Monday 16th March. All we ask is that students do their best and remember that they complete assessments for their teacher all the time! NAPLAN is no different and we do not want students worrying about it!
Remember my door is always open you ever need anything! Have a great week!
