Dear Parents and Carers

We have had much to celebrate throughout Term 3 as students have improved in their learning and continued to grow in their faith. I congratulate every student for their learning achievements this term and encourage parents to look back over the Grade Newsletters for the term and engage with your child/ren about their learning as we draw the term to a close.

An Amazing Spring Fair

It seemed like all of Bulli was at St Joseph’s on Saturday for the Spring Fair. The children had so much fun, even though it was quite warm, and the sense of community was tangible. One of the highlights of the days was the opportunity for all of us to connect as a community for the purpose of making St Joseph’s an even better school.

The involvement of parents/carers and friends on the day was certainly a highlight and a testament to the willingness of families to support the school. There were over 150 volunteers and many of you spent many hours organising stalls or activities and attending to those stalls on the day. Your generosity of time and talent is so appreciated and I thank you for your efforts.

Thank you to the staff for their support leading up to the day and for the time they spent assisting with stalls and activities. I think they had too much fun!

I cannot thank the Spring Fair committee enough. It is a huge undertaking and one that is not taken for granted. The organisation of such an event takes special skills and the ability to draw people together for the good of the school and the community. Thanks to the Spring Fair Committee for their extraordinary work and contribution to the life of the school.

Farewell

This week, my resignation as Principal of St Joseph’s was announced by the Director of Schools, Peter Hill. It has been a long discernment process for me as I have a deep love for the students and the school. After seven years at St Joseph’s as Principal, I am proud of the school, the wonderful staff, and their high levels of commitment and professionalism. I am appreciative of all of our families and what they bring to the school.

I thank all families for choosing a Catholic education at St Joseph’s Bulli. I will hold all of you fondly in my heart and memories. I look forward to Term 4 and remain committed to your child/ren's learning, growth in faith and well-being right up until the last day of the 2023 school year.

Please find attached a letter from the Director of Schools, Diocese of Wollongong.

End of Term 3

Enjoy the break with your children and keep safe. Term 4 begins on Wednesday 11 October.

For all things at St Joseph's, we give thanks.

How does my child receive a Principal's Award?

Class teachers nominate students for Blue Merit Awards which are presented at the weekly assembly.  When five Blue Merit Awards have been received, students send them to the school office to be recorded and are then eligible for a Principal’s Award. When students attain their 4th Principal Award, they are awarded a Principal’s Medallion at an assembly. End of Term awards can be included as part of the 5 awards.
