Accessible Building Works Progress Update

Angela Dawson

I'm pleased to report that significant progress has been made on our accessible building works during the school holidays. Our builders have been working diligently across several areas of the school, and we're seeing real momentum!

OSHC and Year 1 Toilets: The renovation works on these facilities are in their final stages, with just a few small pieces of materials on order before the builders can finish the job completely. We're expecting these materials to arrive very soon, and once they do, the toilets will be ready for use.

Gym Toilet: Work has now commenced on upgrading the toilet facilities in the gym. The good news is that the gym and the affected toilet block will remain operational during this upgrade, so our PE program and other activities can continue as normal.

Year 2 and 3J/K Decking, Stairs and Ramps Area: Over the break, the builders removed all the concrete between the portables in preparation for the decking work, in order to get all the noisy parts of the job done while there were no students on-site trying to learn! The decking works will now be happening in three separate stages during this term. The builders worked all last weekend to ensure we were well into Stage 1 by the time the staff and students arrived on Monday, and we had appropriate entry to the classrooms for students and staff.

Thank you for your understanding as we navigate the construction phase of this project. We know that the disruption of the works is beginning to be felt by students, staff and families alike, and we genuinely appreciate everyone's patience and flexibility during this time. While building works can be disruptive, the end result will be well worth it. If you have any questions or concerns about the works, please don't hesitate to contact the office. We're committed to keeping disruption to a minimum while delivering these important accessibility improvements for our school.
