Learning in Faith

Crazy Sock Day Fundraiser for Catholic Mission - this Wednesday!

As we continue our Mission Month learning, we’re looking forward to Crazy Sock Day this Wednesday, 22nd October! Students, staff and families are invited to join in the fun, wear crazy socks and bring a gold coin donation to support Catholic Mission’s work in Zambia.

We encourage students to be creative and think sustainably! Use what you already have, make something, wear odd socks, mix short and long socks, or borrow a pair.

Together, we’re living out the theme of Missionaries of Hope in Action and showing love for our brothers and sisters in need around the world. Thank you for your support!

Congratulations to our wonderful Year 3/4 community for preparing and leading such a beautiful and faith-filled Mission Month Mass yesterday. The students were so well prepared and participated with such reverence and joy, we are incredibly proud of them! It was lovely to see so many parents and families join us in prayer and celebration as a school community.

Year 6 Mini Vinnies Leaders Update

On Friday, our Year 6 Mini Vinnies Leaders attended a Westernport Parish Vinnies Project meeting at St Joseph’s in Crib Point. Each of our leaders represented St Mary’s respectfully, letting their light shine as they listened, shared ideas and collaborated with student leaders from St Brendan’s and St Joseph’s to plan this year’s Vinnies Christmas Appeal. We are so proud of them! Their participation is a wonderful example of how, at St Mary’s, we live out our call to serve others and show a preferential option for the poor.

More information about the Christmas Appeal will be shared next week.
