Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Families,

We are now well into a busy Term 4, with the highly successful Year 6 and Year 4 Camps having been run and many more excursions and celebrations waiting ahead!

I’d like to single out our Senior Boys Basketball Team who made it all the way to the Division Final last week. They came up against a formidable opponent in the final who were far too good, but in Mr Haire’s words – “our boys are SUCH a good team”. Something I am very proud of. Well done boys!

Unform Policy

School Council has made some recent updates to our Student Dress Code (Uniform) Policy. I have included it later in this newsletter and it is also being added to our website for your reference. Please take the time to read this and become familiar with it. This was reviewed in line with recent changes that the Department of Education made to their Unform Policy Guidelines.

Assistant Principal Role

Following the huge news that Mrs Carey shared with us earlier in the term regarding her retirement, I am pleased to announce that after a rigorous recruitment process, Mrs Carly Macdonald has been appointed to take over as the Assistant Principal of Ballarat North Primary School from the beginning of the 2026 school year. This is wonderful news for our school, both for what Carly will bring to this role, but also the knowledge she already has of our school and community will make this a seamless transition for students, families and staff. Congratulations Carly!

Asthma

With the season well-and-truly changing, and storms already hitting, hand-in-hand with hayfever and pollen – I’d like to remind everyone of the importance of Asthma Management. Any children who suffer asthma can be particularly prone to attacks at this time of year. It is VITAL the children have current Asthma Management Plans and have an asthma puffer at school. If you need assistance with this, please contact the office immediately and Katrina will put you in contact with Mrs Stuttard to assist with this. We want to keep everyone safe.

Just a final reminder that next Tuesday, 4th November is Public Holiday, and that Friday 21st November is a Pupil Free Day for Report Writing for teachers.

I wish you all a good “pseudo-long weekend”. Until I see you in person,

David
