Mrs. Jennifer Chatfield (Assistant Principal)

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

As we move through another busy and productive term, I would like to share some exciting updates from around our school.

Firstly, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Jennifer Chatfield as our Assistant Principal. Jen brings outstanding professionalism, organisation, and a deep commitment to our students, staff, and families. Many of you will already know the positive impact she has had on our school, and I look forward to her continuing to play a key role in leading Reddy into the future.

We are also beginning to look ahead to 2027. While some staff will be moving on at the end of the year and others returning, we are already working hard to ensure we attract and secure quality teachers to support our students. Staffing continues to be a challenge across many schools, but we remain optimistic about building a strong team for next year.

With recent industrial matters now resolved, planning is moving ahead with greater certainty. The new agreement will provide additional opportunities for staff professional learning and planning, which ultimately supports improved outcomes for students. It will also help us continue to offer the valuable camp experiences that our students enjoy.

Speaking of camps, we are currently finalising an exciting camps and excursions program for 2027. This is expected to include the Year 10 Snow Camp, Year 8 Campaspe Downs Camp, University Camp, Sports Academy Camps, and a variety of other learning opportunities throughout the year.

Our leadership team is also reviewing elective and VCE subject offerings for 2027. As a smaller school, we sometimes face difficult decisions about which subjects we can sustainably offer. While these decisions are not always easy, our focus remains on providing a broad and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of the greatest number of students while ensuring the long-term sustainability of our programs.

Thank you to the families who have already completed the Parent and Carer Opinion Survey. Your feedback is incredibly valuable and helps us celebrate what we are doing well while identifying areas for future improvement. If you haven't had the opportunity to complete the survey yet, I encourage you to do so.

Looking ahead, our leadership team has begun planning our 2027 improvement priorities. These will focus on strengthening teaching and learning, developing positive learning habits in students, and continuing to build a positive and supportive school culture for everyone in our community.

As we head towards the final weeks of term, I would also like to remind students about the importance of:

  • Attending school every day to maximise learning opportunities.
  • Wearing full school uniform with pride and representing our school positively.
  • Demonstrating our school values in all interactions, both at school and within the wider community.

Finally, there is plenty of excitement building as we look forward to our Reddy Fete at the end of the term. This is always a fantastic opportunity to come together as a school community, celebrate our achievements, and enjoy a great day with family and friends. We hope to see everyone there!

Thank you for your continued support of our school. Together, we are building a positive, welcoming, and successful learning community for all students.  I would also like to say good luck to any students or families who may be participating in sporting finals in coming weeks.
