Library News

Hello HPS Community!
What a wonderful way to celebrate Book Week with our fantastic Book Parade! It was great to see our students embrace the joy of books and reading - all sharing their favourite characters and stories with such enthusiasm and creativity.
The learning and celebration of books continued throughout the week in classrooms and the library, with students enjoying a wide range of stories and discovering new authors, characters and ideas. Students will also be adding their own creative flair to a whole-school Book Week activity inspired by Derek, written by Ann Donaldson and illustrated by Matt Shanks, creating their very own colourful fish to become part of a special school display.
Book Week is an important opportunity to remind us that books open doors to new worlds, ideas, experiences and possibilities. When children see reading celebrated, they are encouraged themselves as readers to discover the many reasons why reading matters. Thank you to our families and staff for making the parade such a special celebration of books!
Happy Reading!
