Dear Parents and Caregivers
Murrumbeena Cross Country Team win 50% of the races at Bentleigh Districts
On Tuesday the 5th of May the Murrumbeena PS Cross Country team competed at the Bentleigh District Cross Country held at Bald Hill Park.
The Team ran with great commitment and really enjoyed the entire day. Murrumbeena delivered an outstanding performance, winning three of the six races across the boys’ and girls’ 9/10, 11, and 12/13 age groups.
Our three winners were Diego W in the 9/10 boys, Jess H in the 11 year old girls, Jack B in the 11 year old boys and Mathias B coming a brilliant third in the 12/13 boys.
Of particular note was Jess H whose run was one never seen before in recent history. Jess won her 3km race by a staggering 400 metres and still had extra in the tank at the finish line, just an incredible run by a very gifted Murrumbeena student.
Murrumbeena has seven runners who will go on to represent Bentleigh District at the upcoming Beachside Division Cross Country again to be held at Bald Hill on Tuesday the 26th of May.
Murrumbeena Beachside Division Runners are:
Diego W 9/10 boys
Amelia B 9/10 girls
Jack B 11 boys
Jess H 11 girls
Xanthe W 11 girls
Mathias B 12/13 boys
Sophie H 12/13 girls
I am sure you will all join the Murrumbeena community to wish our runners the best of luck.
Go BEEENNNAAA.
