Historic results 2024

VCE results

The class of 2024 are special in so many different ways. They truly embodied our goal of young people of high academic standing and of great character.  They could never be summaries in a single median score or average ATAR. Yet, the system does insist on such things and this year, the numbers remain outstanding.

With a median ATAR of 72.55, the second highest in college history, and a median study score of 31 across all unit 3&4 subjects (the class of 2025 can take partial credit for this great result), the class of 2024 have etched their names into the history books.

I would like to take the opportunity to highlight not only those who you will see in the ATAR 90+ honour roll below, but to all those who worked so hard to make this result happen.

Could I also commend the efforts of those who chose to go unscored and successfully navigated their VCE, as well as those in the VCE VM / VPC programs who also displayed respect, community, creativity, integrity and their own excellence during their time at the college.

NAPLAN Excellence

Could I also take the opportunity to share some of these amazing numbers.  State data runs a system that adds all of the scaled scores for NAPLAN (all sections) together and gives a school an average scaled result.  A guide, based on The Age release of the top 100 schools article revealed these numbers:

On a State run Secondary level - Sandringham College:

  • 24th ranked School at year 7.
  • 28th ranked school at year 9.

When you throw in the broader schooling community (private etc.), we rank 75th at both year 7 and year 9 across the state.

This is no small feat and the possibilities for the college moving forward are clear for all to see.  Our expectations of our students, like our support for them, remain high in 2025.

It is a great opportunity to thank our feeder primary schools for the amazing work that they are doing with all of the children in their care.  We are very lucky to have such a strong, caring and vibrant set of primary schools around us.
