This Week's Updates

Dear Families,
Autumn has arrived and with it some more season appropriate rain and cold. We were blessed with the weather for the first 4 weeks of term, but now it's time to acknowledge that Winter is coming and embrace all the indoor activities, warm fires and cosy winter evenings that lie ahead.
Please ensure that your children are wearing their Winter uniforms and remind them that coats, beanies, scarves and gloves are all appropriate to wear to and from school but not in classrooms.
Many of our students took part in the Interschool District Cross Country. Well done to each of them for representing our school so well today and putting in their very best effort. We are pleased that many students have qualified for the Division event on Monday 1st June.
Cyber Safety Evening at no cost to parents next Wednesday 27 May in the Community Centre
Ideally we would have at least one parent from each family in attendance. The evening will be a great educational opportunity for parents to acquire knowledge, reflect on home practices, reinforce the good work you are doing, acknowledge the difficulties we share as partners in education in this area and give us some common ground and language to use with the children we are all so invested in.
Kindness Celebration this Friday
We will be celebrating the kindness we see every day in our St James school community on Friday. Students will be in vertical groups Prep - Yr 3 and Yr 4 - 6, as they complete some reflections and celebrations of this beautiful quality and way of being. Our specific activities will be held 1 - 2pm and our prayer service will be at the usual time of 2.30pm. All are welcome at the prayer service.
Prep 2027 Enrolments
Our Meet and Greet Sessions have been sent out to all of our prospective NEW families and I have had the pleasure of meeting so many new families and students. It's one of my favourite parts of the job, conducting tours, holding meet and greet sessions and capturing the excitement of young students about to embark on their school journey.
Invitations will be sent this week to current families to attend a meet and greet session.
Marathon Club
Marathon Club is back in full swing. If you would like your child to get involved please pop into the office to fill out a marathon club form and pay $15 for the Semester, noting that this is only available for years 3 -6.
