NSWPSSA GIRL'S HOCKEY CARNIVAL

Congratulations to Jessica and the Polding Team for their exceptional performance at the NSWPSSA Hockey Carnival in Newcastle last week. It is truly impressive that they won their semi-final and then managed to draw 2-2 against Combined Independent Schools in the final. Jessica, you should feel immensely proud of yourself for your remarkable accomplishments. Competing against the top female hockey players from all over New South Wales, it is evident that you were among the standout players.

Well done once again!

POLDING CROSS COUNTRY TRIALS

Again as mentioned earlier in the newsletter. Well done to Angus, Benji and Josie at the Polding Cross Country Trials yesterday. You should be very proud of your achievements at this event.

DIOCESAN RUGBY UNION TRIALS

Congratulations to Angus, Bentley, Digby, and Tom for their participation in the Diocesan Rugby Union Trials/Gala Day at Tamworth last Friday, representing St Patrick's. The boys, part of a combined team with students from St Mary's Primary, Armidale as well as St Mary's of the Angels, Guyra, the team performed admirably against tough competition as they won all of their games. Special mention goes to Digby who made it to the possibles versus probable game. Despite not making it to the Diocese Rugby Team, all of the boys should take pride in their accomplishments on the day.

SCHOOL ATHLETICS CARNIVAL-Friday 21st June

In the near future, we will be hosting our athletics carnival (Friday 21st June) at Walcha Central. An information note was sent out earlier this week through the COMPASS Portal to provide all the necessary details. To guarantee the success of our carnival, we are in great need of additional volunteers. Furthermore, the P and F kindly request assistance from any volunteers who can help with the operation of the barbecue and the stall they will be managing throughout the day.

If you can assist in any way, even if it is only for an hour, please let the school know.

Regrettably, the student's readiness for the carnival will be affected by the ongoing renovations on the middle and upper playgrounds. Nevertheless, we intend to proceed with the high jump event prior to the athletics carnival. Unfortunately we are unable to have our scheduled high jump practise sessions this Friday due to the wet and muddy state of the top playground as well the cold and windy weather conditions that are forecasted tomorrow.

A high jump lesson is now scheduled for Wednesday, June 12th, with the actual high jump competition set for Friday, June 19th, provided that the weather permits.

St Patrick's Primary Sports Handbook

St Patrick's now has an official sports handbook and it has been updated after the school swimming carnival held recently. This book is designed to give all members associated with our school a clearer understanding of when our school conducts our various sporting carnivals, the processes/qualifying times involved for students who want to represent our school at Diocesan sporting events as well as an explanation of the representative sporting pathways your child may want to undertake in their respective sports.
