Principal Message

Be Kind, Be safe, Be respectful, Be responsible, Be resilient, Be ready

Dear Families,

We’ve had a positive and energetic start to Term 2, with students returning refreshed and ready for the weeks ahead.

A big thank you to everyone who attended the ANZAC ceremonies, either at school or at the two services held at the Cowes Cenotaph over the weekend. It was wonderful to see our students involved in such meaningful occasions, representing our school with respect and pride.

Well done to all of our students who took part in the District Athletics Carnival at Newhaven College on Monday. It’s a fantastic achievement just to be involved, and we thank you for the way you represented our school.

Thank you also to the parents who joined our Parents and Friends Group meeting online on Tuesday evening. We’re continuing to look at ways to make involvement in this important group as manageable and accessible as possible, and we really value your ideas and support.

As you may be aware, Their Care Before and After School Care have unfortunately found that we are unviable for them to continue at our school. We are currently exploring options for Before and After School Care at Our Lady Star of the Sea and are hopeful of securing a provider. We understand that this is difficult news for families who rely on the service.

We’re looking forward to coming together for our Mother’s Day Breakfast on Friday, May 8th. Don’t forget to send in a photo if you would like it included as part of the prayer service on the morning. Please ensure the photo is sent to the school by the due date. This was communicated to all parents through a SeeSaw post.

This Thursday, our Fire Carriers students will take part in a YAWA Listening Circle incursion here at school. We’re grateful to Christy Spottiswood for helping to organise this opportunity.

And finally, a very special congratulations to Ruby Robertshaw, who was baptised at St Mary’s Church on Sunday. It was a beautiful and memorable occasion for Ruby and her family, and it was lovely to be there to share in such an important moment. We wish Ruby every blessing as she continues her faith journey.

Warm regards,

Pamela McKillop
