PRAYER

 O my God!

I love Thee above all things,

with my whole heart and soul,

because Thou art all-good and worthy of all love.

I love my neighbour as myself for the love of Thee.

I forgive all who have injured me,

and ask pardon of all whom I have injured.

Amen

From the Principal

Dear Families,

It was wonderful to gather for our prep students’ 100 days of school celebration this morning. Listening to them share what they have learned and their special memories of their two terms at school was rewarding for all of us. Similarly, seeing them share time with their buddies and engage with each other during the activities the teachers had planned shows the progress they have made in their first semester at school. We cannot underestimate the importance of education and the influence of such in the lives of our students and society.

In this context, I take this opportunity to share news of a milestone in my own educational journey. I am now a Doctor of Education. Before commencing at St Philip’s, I was enrolled in the doctoral program at Australian Catholic University undertaking research at another Catholic primary school. The focus of my research was understandings of Catholic social justice in the mission and life of a Catholic school. My time as a doctoral candidate was deeply rewarding and enriching, and it continues to shape the gratitude and joy I experience in my vocation within Catholic education.

Grandparents Day

Our students will be able to share their learning with their grandparents or special friends on Thursday when we celebrate Grandparents and Special Friends Day. Our day commences at 9.30am in the classroom followed by morning tea and prayer in the school hall. For child safety and catering purposes, we ask that all visitors please register for the event using the TryBooking link that follows:
