The Grade 5/6 classes have had a very busy Term 2 filled with learning, different experiences and community involvement. The students enjoyed an Indigenous Incursion with Dion Drummond, where they learned about the rich history, culture, and traditions of Indigenous Australians through interactive activities, music and storytelling. A visit to Macleod College provided insights into High School life, easing their transition concerns. Demonstrating community spirit, the students collected and donated food to the Diamond Valley Food Share program, learning the importance of helping those in need. Two of the 5/6 classes brought in the most items and got to enjoy a ‘Gold Class’ cinema experience as a reward. Interschool Sports was another highlight, with students playing either netball, football, soccer or softball against other schools in the area. Overall, this term was very successful, with lots of learning for both the students and teachers. As we farewell Term 2, the students can’t help but get excited about getting closer to Term 3 when we head off to camp. This is what some of the 5/6 B students had to say about this term…

Abdi - In Term 2 my favourite thing we did was the day we went to Macleod Secondary College and had a day doing fun activities and seeing what a typical day of high school would look like. My other favourite thing was having Brian in our class before he left. Playing interschool sports was also fun, and we won 3 games. I scored 3 goals and 4 assists.

Hannah - In term 2, my favourite thing was going to Macleod College. We did fun activities and saw what high school looked like.

Hosna - In term 2, my favourite thing we did was Calm Youth. Some people went to Calm Youth once a week for 5 weeks, and the graduation was the best thing ever. I learnt so much, and they were so nice.

Cyrus - In term 2, my favourite thing was when we went to Macleod Secondary College, and I also loved The Witches Party performance by the younger grades. Also, unfortunately, Brian has now left the school, but I was happy when he was here.

Harley - In Term 2, we all did a Diamond Valley Food Share for about 7 weeks, and I think it was amazing for all of us to do because we all collaborated and worked as a team to collect items to donate. Another amazing thing is that we had our school photos.

Makis - In term 2, some kids did CALM youth for 5 weeks and there were winter interschool sports. The football team won 1 game, the soccer team won 3 games, and the Netball team won 1.

Kahsha - In term 2, we all went to Macleod College, which was fun. We also got to do the Diamond Valley Food Drive. We all ended up donating over one thousand food items and our class came 2nd with over three hundred items.

Eddie - In term 2, we played winter interschool sports. I played footy and we won 1 game. We were down 9 points at the start of the last quarter, and we came back and won by over 30 points. Orlando was easily best on ground.

Angus- In this term (Term 2), we did a bunch of crazy things. For Interschool sports, I played softball, which sadly, we didn’t get into finals because we had boys in the girls' team. Apart from that, this term was awesome and average.

Zac M - This term, so many amazing things happened. My favourite activity was The Witches Party concert by the year Prep 1/2s.

Orlando - This term, we got to experience an Indigenous Incursion run by an Indigenous man named Dion Drummond. My other favourite thing was Brian saying ANYTHING before he left. I also liked the excursion to Macleod, especially the cooking and P.E. We also had interschool sports, I chose football, and we played 3 games. We won 1 but lost 2. The game we won; we smashed them by 40 points!

Sage - This term, we did interschool sports. There was netball, football, soccer and softball. My favourite sport was netball. Our netball team won 1 game this season, but I only played 1 game because I was away for 6 weeks travelling around Australia.

Amelijah - My favourite day this term was PJ Day. I also liked the indigenous performer, Dion Drummond.

Seb - My favourite thing about term 2 was Calm Youth. In Calm Youth, some very lucky people got to participate. We had 5 sessions over a span of 5 weeks, and in the last week, we graduated. Graduation was so much fun.

Tenisha - This term, my cat had a kitten, and it is so cute.
