Numeracy

This term in Numeracy, Grade 3 students will learn how to collect information and display it using graphs. They will also explore maps, learning how to use symbols and locate different places. In Probability, students will investigate chance and explore how likely different events are to happen. Students will continue building their multiplication and division skills, including solving worded problems. We will also be learning about mass and capacity, with students taking part in hands-on activities to estimate, measure and compare different objects.
This term, Grade 4 students will learn how to collect information and present it using graphs. They will also explore 3D objects by drawing, building and creating their own models. In Probability, students will investigate chance and explore how likely different events are to happen. Students will continue practising their multiplication and division skills, learning new ways to solve problems. We will also be exploring mass and capacity through hands-on activities where students will measure and compare different objects and containers.
Students will also participate in daily number fluency activities to build confidence and improve their recall of number facts. Regular retrieval practice will reinforce previously taught concepts, strengthen long-term memory, and support students in making connections across different areas of mathematics.
We have a subscription to Times Table Rockstars, an online program to help your child practice multiplication and division facts. Please get in touch with your child’s teacher for their login details.
