Grade 5 Leadership Incursion

On Wednesday last week we had a leadership incursion led by Jaime from UPP (Unleashing Personal Potential). At the leadership incursion we played some team building games like getting our class through a hula hoop as quickly as possible. Not only were these activities fun, but they also taught us teamwork,cooperation and empathy which are valuable qualities for leadership. We also learnt how to be a good leader with ASPIRE. A for action, S for served, P for persist, I for influence, R for respect, E for encourage.

We also learnt different types of leadership. The Prophet leader who has lots of ideas but can't really see them through, the Planner leader who will plan every single detail to make sure everything will go well. The People leader who sees everything through and they can tell everyone about the plan and get them excited. We learnt the importance of having different types of leaders, how everyone’s strengths can be used in a team.
