Staff Spirituality Day

Our staff gathered on Tuesday 9th June for a deeply enriching Spirituality Day, led by David Bulmer, who guided us through meaningful learning, reflection and prayer. The focus of our day was the gift of Wonder, how it opens our hearts to Beauty, Truth and Goodness, and draws us closer to God.

Inspired by The Sistine Chapel Experience, staff were invited to slow down, notice, and truly attend to the world around them. Through art, Scripture and guided reflection, we explored how beauty becomes a pathway to the divine, helping us see reality not as something to control, but as a gift to receive with humility and gratitude.

Our reflections centred on questions such as:

  • Where do I encounter humble astonishment?

  • How does wonder shape the way I see myself, others and God?

  • What does it mean to be human in light of God’s love?

We were reminded that wonder is not reserved for extraordinary moments, it is found in the everyday: in nature, in learning, in relationships, and in the children we teach. This aligns beautifully with the Magis 2033 vision, calling us to find God in all things and to nurture in our students a love for Truth, Beauty and Goodness.

The day encouraged us to recognise the “red threads” that connect us to what is life‑giving and sacred. As one reflection captured so simply: “You are the art.” We return to our classrooms renewed in spirit, committed to helping our students discover wonder in their own lives, and grateful for the opportunity to grow together as a faith community.

Confirmation

Next Tuesday 16 June, our Year 6 students will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation at 6:00pm. This is a very special moment in their faith journey as they are strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit and called to live with courage, kindness, and hope. We look forward to celebrating this joyful occasion with our candidates, their families, and our parish community. We pray that the Holy Spirit continues to guide and inspire them as they grow in faith and love.

As our Confirmation candidates prepare for this special sacrament, we invite families to take a quiet moment together at home to pray for their child. This simple prayer can be said in the days leading up to Tuesday’s celebration, helping them feel supported, calm, and ready to welcome the Holy Spirit.

Come, Holy Spirit, be with us in our home.Fill our hearts with peace and guide our child as they prepare for Confirmation.Help them grow in courage, kindness, and faith.Stay close to our family and lead us always in your love.

Amen.
