Principal's Message

Welcome to Term Three! Thank you to everyone for making our start to the term such a success. It has been wonderful to hear about holiday adventures and welcome everyone back to school.

It's only the beginning of term but there have been wonderful things happening at our school already, including a number of improvements to our grounds that took place over the holiday break. Read all about these fantastic works on School Council's following page.

We continue to enjoy special Thursday lunches with our School Wide Positive Behaviour token lunch recipients, and congratulate all for displaying our school values of Safe, Kind, and/or Respectful. Last term Kate Barletta enjoyed a wonderful lunch with Edie (6MP), Alex M (4CG) and Maddison (3AC) who bought along friends Aria, Tim and Evie. Last week Serena Walker had a lovely lunch with Angus (FLT) and Isabella (4CG) and their friends Arlo and Meagan.

NAIDOC Week

Thank you to all that attended our special NAIDOC Week assembly this afternoon. Every year we are more and more impressed by the learning of our students, their reflections and the power of belonging and connection for everyone in our community. Please head to our NAIDOC Week page to read more about our students' learning and how NAIDOC Week was celebrated across year levels.

Staffing Updates

As previously communicated, this term we have welcomed a new teacher in Mandarin, Caimeizi (Mei) Li, and Jonah Garvie is settling into our Year Five Team after a handover with Adrian Jones at the end of Term Two. Welcome Mei and Jonah!

We also welcome back Sian Wilson to our PE Department, and Joseph Labagala to his full time position as Grounds and Maintenance Manager. Sue Elsbury will remain on leave for Term Three following her back surgery, and we wish Sue all the best with recovery.

We have a number of staff members returning on Monday after some extended holiday leave, with Jan Clark continuing her leave next week (returning in Week Four).

Sharon McWhinney will also be taking two weeks' leave from Monday 4th August, and our most regular CRT Sandra Garro will replace Sharon in 3SM during this time.

In further news, Julie Schenk our Library Technician will be taking extended time off to return home and spend time with her family in England. Julie will finish up for the year at the end of next week, Friday 8th August, returning to ENPS in Jan 2026. We look forward to welcoming Julie back next year.

2026 Enrolments

It may only be half way through the year, however 2026 planning is well underway. We are currently in the process of offering places to 2026 Foundation students (this window will close on 8th August). While we wish we could take every Foundation student wanting to come to ENPS, unfortunately we do not have the classrooms or room to do so and only have capacity to take 88.

A reminder to current ENPS families with younger siblings due to start Foundation next year, your child's enrolment application for 2026 must be submitted to the office.

We also ask that if you and your family are planning on leaving ENPS at the end of 2025, please let the school office know as soon as you are in a position to do so. (This excludes Year Six students.)

We have lots of wonderful things to look forward to this term across the school; our Year Fours head off to camp at Mt Evelyn on Monday, the Year Threes and Fives have their intensive swimming lessons coming up and the Year Sixes are very excited to begin their Exhibition of Learning and begin their transition to secondary school. Science Week, Book Week plus another VIP Morning are also on the horizon! Be sure to check out the School Council and Library pages in this newsletter for lots of terrific updates.

We look forward to warmly welcoming Kate back to ENPS on Monday!

Wishing everyone a great weekend,

Alice McKenzie
