A Day Of Learning At Scoresby Secondary College

On Monday 7th of August, the Year 5 students walked to Scoresby Secondary College to learn all about what life is like in the shoes of a secondary school student. There were 3 subjects we participated in - Design and Technology, Science and Music. We also had sausages in bread for lunch that Scoresby Secondary College provided. After we had finished eating, we went outside to play with some sports equipment for 15 minutes. We learned so much that day about what life will be like as a secondary school student. Now we can’t wait to get to secondary school!

Write A Book In A Day

On Tuesday 8th of August, The Scoresby Warriors and The Periodic Pencils had their special day full of writing. We arrived at 7.50am and stayed until 8.00pm. First, we started by planning our story, then we worked on deciding where the pictures will go and what they will look like. Then we started writing. Everybody had a turn at writing a page and drawing. After we wrote our book, we had pizza for dinner. Next, we added the finishing touches to the pictures and printed the pages of the book. Then, we started gluing and photocopying the pages. Lastly, Mrs Rheumer scanned and uploaded it to the judges.

We arrived at school between 7.50am and 8.00am and then from 8.00am until 9.00am we were planning our story. Once it was around 12 o’clock, we were onto our 5th chapter out of 10. We had to make sure we were taking breaks so that we didn’t get too overwhelmed. Once it reached 5.00pm, we had dinner. It was yummy pizza! At around 7.00pm, both teams were running up and down the corridor to add our illustrations into our book. Once it reached 8.00pm, both teams had finished! Everyone agreed that it was a fun, but also very stressful, day.
