Congratulations Monsignor Wilkes!

Today is a very special day for Monsignor Wilkes as it is the 40th anniversary of his ordination into the priesthood. We were very fortunate to celebrate Mass with Mons today and after it had finished, all of the staff members and the students celebrated with cake and presented Mons with a gift.

Reflection

Jesus teaches us that to follow him truly we must do more than keep the commandments. Our hearts must be free from false gods like wealth. That's what he tells the young man who asked him about the way to eternal life.

One person who followed Jesus with all his heart was Dom Helder Camara. He was ordained a bishop for one of the poorest parts of Brazil on the 29th of August 1952. Dom Camara was known for his concern for the poor and his fight for justice in Brazil. He preached non-violence as the only lasting way to improve the lot of the poor. He lived the simple life that he preached and died on August 27th in1999.

Prayer 

Faithful God, by sending your Son

you kept the promise you made to your chosen people.

Open our hearts and our minds

to his message of salvation,

and help us to share the good news

every day of our lives.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

First Reconciliation and Confirmation

Recently, information was sent home to the families of all eligible First Reconciliation and Confirmation candidates in regard to both preparation programs that will be commencing soon. The information in both documents outlined all aspects associated with both programs. The preparation program for our First Reconciliation candidates will be commencing this Tuesday 29th August. If you have any questions/queries regarding the Sacrament of First Reconciliation or the Sacrament of Confirmation, please feel free to contact Mr Hyatt.

Sacrament Dates for 2023

2023 First Reconciliation: Date has been set for our Catholic students in Years 2 and 3 for Friday 20th October 2023.

2023 Confirmation: Date has been set for our Catholic students in Years 5 and 6 for Sunday 5th November 2023.
